“We are a technology developing company”
Transferring the expertise of Metro Istanbul to the delegation, General Manager Soy informed the Lagos delegation about the fields where they can support the project and said, “As Metro Istanbul, we are a technology company with 33-years of history, experience and knowledge in R&D and consultancy services as well as management. We are in a position to inform our stakeholders, with whom we cooperate, with an impartial approach, on how to meet their needs without directing them to any supplier”.
“Collaboration with successful operators is necessary.”
Lagos State Administrative Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said, “Just buying trains is not enough to become a world-class rail operator. In order to carry out the right train operation, it is necessary to cooperate with countries and companies that carry out successful work in the sector. With this understanding, my team and me visited Metro Istanbul in Turkey and had the opportunity to observe the operation methods, processes and working methods on site. We thank Mr. Ozgur Soy, the General Manager of Metro Istanbul, for accompanying us during our visit and giving us information about the company and its work”.
After the meeting, the Nigerian delegation visited M1 Command and Control Centre, the workshop area, and the R&D and Design Centre and conducted a field investigation.
