OZGUR SOY, Ph.D.
Özgür Soy, Ph.D. was born in 1970. After completing his education at the German High School, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boğaziçi University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD. He also completed the Port Management Certificate Program on a scholarship from the Singapore Government under the Singapore Cooperation Program.
Özgür Soy obtained his Ph.D. in Maritime Transportation from Istanbul Technical University. He has held management positions in companies such as Kumport, Procter & Gamble, DHL, Schneider Electric, Arçelik, Borusan Lojistik, and Trenkwalder. He has taught International Logistics Management courses at Yeditepe University and Uludağ University and has been a speaker at numerous conferences in Turkey, Europe, and the Middle East.
As of February 13, 2020, Özgür Soy, Ph.D. was appointed as the General Manager of Metro Istanbul at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. He is a father of three and is proficient in English and German.
During the general assembly of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) held in Barcelona, Özgür Soy, Ph.D. the General Manager of Metro Istanbul, was unanimously elected as the President of the Eurasian Region and Vice President of UITP. UITP has over 2000 members in more than 100 countries.
In addition to his professional career, Özgür Soy, Ph.D. is interested in professional photography, and he also published a science fiction novel titled "The DNA of Danger" in 2022.
