New Record on Total Journey Numbers of M2 and M5 Lines!

Metro Istanbul broke ridership record in Friday 18th October with 2.372.714 total trips in all lines. Metro Istanbul also broke ridership records on M2 Yenikapi-Haciosman Metro Line with 602.432 trips and on M5 Uskudar-Cekmekoy Metro Line with 234.774 trips in the same day.

Metro Istanbul achieved a great success and broke ridership record earlier by carrying a total of 2.310.256 passengers in Friday, 2nd November 2018. After a year of this success, Metro Istanbul increased this number by 60.000 more passengers. There are different factors that contributed to this increase such as the commissioning of the second stage of M5 Uskudar-Cekmekoy Metro Line and % 45 capacity increase of M2 Yenikapi-Haciosman Metro Line with 8 Carriage services during week days. We are aiming to double this number by commissioning the lines that are under construction.
