Metro Istanbul is in Fortune 500…

Metro Istanbul is 302nd in “Fortune 500 Turkey” list that is one of Turkey's most prestigious lists where 500 largest companies in Turkish business sector are determined.

Fortune Turkey and CRIF carries out survey jointly since 2008 where they determine the largest 500 companies in Turkey. Fortune 500 Turkey survey results are for 2019 are announced and 6 affiliate companies of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) were included in the list, where companies had the opportunity to measure their performance and see their place in the competition with certain criteria.

Travel and transportation services are in 15th place…
The evaluation is based on the net sales in 2019 where IMM affiliates IGDAS, ISTAC, KIPTAS, ISTGUVEN and Istanbul Ulasim are included in the list. Turkey's largest urban rail system operator Metro Istanbul got 302nd place in the list.

Metro Istanbul was carrying more than 2 million passengers a day before the coronavirus epidemic, as a result of the evaluation made on its net sales of 1 billion 42 million TL; Metro Istanbul is ranked 15th in the travel and transportation services category and 235th in the equity ranking.

“We are going to be in higher positions with new investments…”
Metro Istanbul General Manager Ozgur Soy expressed his satisfaction for taking 302nd place and becoming one of Turkey's largest 500 companies and said "with significant investment in IMM's rail systems four new lines are going to be commissioned in 2020 and 2021. We are aiming to be in higher positions in the following years, thanks to these breakthroughs”.
