Istanbul’s Rail System Lines
At the present time, fastest and most practical form of public transportation is metro where you do not get stuck in traffic. Metro is essential in modern day cities because it renders punctuality and comfort in between two locations. It can be seen that most of the developed countries built their infrastructure years ago and made transportation more convenient with their metro network.
Currently Istanbul has 170, 05 Km length of metro network (154, 25 Km is operated by Metro Istanbul) but plans are made for the future to increase the network up to 624, 65 Km by year 2023 and 1.100 Km after 2023.
Rail Systems Operated by METRO İSTANBUL
Metro İstanbul continues to enhance its metro network where it renders services daily to over 2 million passengers with 12 railway systems reaching up to 154, 25 km. Metro Istanbul’s journey set off with Aksaray – Ataturk Airport Line in 1989 and is now on the verge of reaching to every district and neighbourhood of Istanbul. As a result of its hard working Metro Istanbul is one of the exemplary brands in the globe.

Other Railway System Lines
Metro İstanbul continuing to reticulate Istanbul with its metro network IETT (İstanbul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Establishments) and TCDD (Turkish State Railways) has their own railway systems as well. These lines include Karakoy Tunnel which is world’s 2nd Metro and is operational since 1875 along with Marmaray which became operational in 2014 and is known as the “Project of the Century”.
