Metro Istanbul Employee Brought Disabled Passenger With His Father Together

Security staff at Unalan Station got suspicious with the behaviour of a disabled passenger and they contacted his father and united him with his son. Father indicated that he is working during the day and his wife is not well that is why he cannot spare enough time for his son. Because of these reasons, he believes that his son left the house unnoticed and he added that his son would not be able to make his way home by himself.

Metro Istanbul security staff and Station Unit Chief at Unalan Station of M4 Kadikoy-Tavsantepe Metro Line noticed a disabled passenger named Fatih Akbulut, who entered the station without using a pass card at the turnstiles in 15th October 2019, Tuesday at 19:40.

Metro Istanbul staff communicated with the disabled passenger and he said that he did not know his identity information. Metro Istanbul staff found out that the passenger is impaired in an advanced level. Metro Istanbul did not allow Fatih Akbulut to continue his journey by himself considering the fact that he might get lost. 

Disabled passenger showed his marking tag to the staff and they saw that the tag had his father’s contact information. Staff contacted passenger’s father whose name is Abdullah Akbulut to inform the whereabouts of his son. Father informed the staff that he is living in Umraniye district and he can make his way to the station immediately. The father kindly asked Metro Istanbul staff to keep a close watch on his son. 

“He could not come back on his own”

Metro Istanbul staff asked Fatih Akbulut if he needs anything to eat and he said that he was not hungry so they offered him tea and had a talk whilst they were accompanying him in resting room until his father arrive at the station. The father arrived at the station at 20:45 and said that he was at work and his wife is not well. Because of these reasons they cannot spare enough time for their son and this might be the reason why he left the house unnoticed. Abdullah Akbulut indicated that his son would not be able to make his way home by himself and thanked Metro Istanbul staff for taking care of his son.
