Air Pollution Measurements are Carried out at Metro.

Air Pollution Measurements are carried out at Istanbul metros and results are below limit value.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality affiliate Metro Istanbul carried out PM 2.5 and PM 10 measurements to measure air quality at stations and inside carriages under its operation. Measurements took place at Metrokent Station of Kirazli-Basaksehir Line, Yenikapi Station of Yenikapi-Haciosman Line, Carsi Station of Uskudar-Cekmekoy Line and inside carriages of M2, M3 and M5 Lines.
PM 2.5 method measures the particles in atmosphere and are smaller than 2.5 microns but there is not such a standard in Turkey. The upper limit determined by World Health Organisation (WHO) is 25 mg/m3 and results of the measured values of stations and carriages are below:

PM 10 is another method that is applicable for particles bigger than 10 microns and upper limit value of this measurement is 100 mg/m3 in Turkey. It can be seen on the table that measured values of the stations and carriages are below this limit
