Journey in Istanbul throughout History: Moda Tram
Istanbul is a city which its settlement expanded throughout the history and this led to the transformation of the ways of transportation. Many different means of transport from palanquins to buckboards and from horsecars to trolleybuses were used for transportation back in the past and now we are using cars, metros, buses and minibuses for urban transportation. City’s infrastructure is rapidly developed by the time and transportation network of Istanbul is highly advanced at the moment. Through this process of transformation, some symbols of Istanbul preserved their existence such as the Historical Karakoy Tunnel, Heritage Tram at Istiklal Street and Moda Tram. These historical symbols transport domestic and foreign tourists that would like to have a nostalgic experience.
