Cooperation visit from Hatay's transportation staff to Metro Istanbul

Turkey's largest urban rail system operator Metro Istanbul hosted Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Staff. During the visit, cooperation talks were held on the rail system works planned to be implemented in Hatay.
Metro Istanbul management paid a visit to Hatay recently. This time, Metro Istanbul management came together with the Mayor of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Lütfü Savaş and discussed about the rail system projects to be carried out in Hatay.

The delegation consisting of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General for Transportation Bülent Ok, Head of Transportation Department Nuri Baycan, Public Transportation Services Manager Barış Süner and transportation experts came together in a meeting with Metro Istanbul General Manager Özgür Soy, Metro Istanbul senior management along with Head of Transportation Department Utku Cihan and IMM Deputy Secretary General Orhan Demir.

General Manager Ozgur Soy made a presentation about Metro Istanbul at the meeting and said, “In our previous meeting, we had a field study with the Mayor of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, Lütfü Savaş and his team, and we dreamed together how to build urban rail systems in Hatay. During Hatay’s team's visit to Istanbul, we both demonstrated our company and the work we did, and presented the 4-stage concept plan we prepared for the rail systems in Hatay. "If we get the chance to realise the projects we offer, our support will continue from the project stage to the operation".

“We have our name in 45 rail system projects”
Reminding that they serve nearly 3 million passengers a day with 181.5 kilometres of system network, 186 stations and 949 vehicles as a 33-year company with 23-years of project experience, General Manager Ozgur Soy said, “we succeeded in 45 rail system projects covering a length of 588.30 kilometres with the goal of becoming the backbone of urban transportation in Istanbul. Thanks to the feedback we receive from our passengers and our management experience, we can think of the process with various points of view and develop functional projects with an integrated perspective. We are open to evaluating cooperation offers from all cities in our country. We all know the cities of Turkey very well in terms of geographical and cultural characteristics, not just Istanbul. Finally, we received the tender for Ankaray (A1) Dikimevi-Natoyolu Rail System Extension Line Application Project in Ankara and we will complete the project in the best possible way. Hatay is one of the most important cities of our country, both geographically and with its cultural richness. "We would be delighted to take part in all kinds of projects that will make life easier for people of Hatay.

Cooperation decision was taken in the meetings
Accompanying the Hatay delegation during their 4-day visit, Metro Istanbul's Deputy General Manager Responsible for Projects, Fatih Gültekin and Design Services Directorate experts gave information about the transportation model and possible rail system lines for Hatay. At the end of the visit, it was decided to cooperate in bringing rail systems to Hatay.
