Metro Istanbul staff took care of the homeless citizen…

Metro Istanbul staff offered food and tea to Oktay Sami who came to Unalan Metro Station. Metro Istanbul staff contacted municipal police teams and directed Oktay Sami to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality shelters.
A citizen named Oktay Sami came to Unalan Station of M4 Kadikoy-Tavsantepe Metro Line on 7th January 2020 around 20:45. Other passengers informed Metro Istanbul staff that the citizen is homeless and the staff accompanied him to the Station Directorship. Station staff offered food and tea to the 22 years old citizen so he could warm up and then the staff informed municipal police teams about his conditions so they can direct the homeless man to a more convenient environment where he will not be affected by unfavourable weather conditions. Municipal police teams arrived at Unalan Station and took Oktay Sami to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality shelters.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality accommodates homeless citizens in this harsh winter conditions. Mayor Imamoglu addressed to the people of Istanbul on his social media account calling that “If you see people who need care in these harsh winter days, you can call ALO 153 and contact @ibbBeyazmasa so you can help out our teams to offer food, shelter and medical services to those who are in need”.
