We remind you that you will be penalised if you use the emergency brake outside of an emergency!

The vehicle stopped automatically on M1A Yenikapı-Atatürk Airport Metro Line, due to the improper use of the emergency brake inside the vehicle, which departed from Yenikapı on Wednesday, 12th October at 22.30. When the vehicle consisting of 4 car series stopped, 1 car remained on the platform and 3 cars stuck in the tunnel.

In order for our passengers in the vehicle to be evacuated as soon as possible and to ensure safety control, 2 cars of the 4 car series were separated from the other 2 cars and towed to the platform by our teams and the passengers were evacuated. Then, within 3 minutes, the remaining 2 cars in the tunnel were towed to the platform and the evacuation of the passengers was ensured.

After the controls, it was determined that there was no malfunction or extraordinary situation in the vehicle, and that the vehicle stopped due to the improper use of the emergency brake by a passenger.

Our vehicles have emergency brakes for our passengers to use in case of an emergency. We would like to remind you that if these brakes were used improperly, the damage caused by the disruption of public service would be collected from the person or persons who use the emergency brake outside of an emergency. The act in question also constitutes a crime and has criminal sanctions in accordance with the 113, 223 and other provisions of the Turkish Penal Code.
